ICCAT Record of Vessels
The ICCAT Record of Vessels comprises the following Records as established by ICCAT Recommendations
ICCAT Record of Vessels over 20m1, established by the Recommendation by ICCAT Concerning the Establishment of an ICCAT Record of Vessels over 20 m Authorized to Operate in the Convention Area [Rec.09-08]. Vessels over 20 metres not entered on this Record are deemed not to be authorized to fish for tuna or tuna-like species in the ICCAT Convention area.
ICCAT Record of Carrier Vessels, established under the Recommendation by ICCAT Establishing a Programme for Transhipment [Rec.06-11], contains vessels authorized to receive transhipments of tuna and tuna-like species in the ICCAT Convention area from large-scale tuna longline vessels.
ICCAT Record of BFT Catching Vessels, established under the Recommendation Amending the Recommendation by ICCAT to Establish a Multi-Annual Recovery Plan for Bluefin Tuna in the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean [Rec. 08-05], contains vessels authorized to fish actively for bluefin tuna in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.
ICCAT Record of BFT Other Vessels, established under Rec. 08-05, contains all other fishing vessels (i.e. catching vessels excluded) authorized to operate for bluefin tuna in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.
ICCAT Record of SWO-MED Vessels2, established under Rec. 09-04 contains fishing vessels authorised to catch swordfish in the Mediterranean Sea.
1 This Recommendation is expected to enter into force in June 2010. Until that date, the ICCAT Record of Vessels over 24m, established by 02-22 remains valid.
